A local handyman and I put a pergola on the back deck. In the summer, Jane can put shade cloth on it to give us relief from the sun, but it can be taken off in the winter to let it in. It turned out great looking and sturdy. 15' 2x10s are pretty heavy though to lift 10' into the air.
